Doug Ducey has launched an official transition of power that is set to take place in the near future. According to Ducey’s administration, Ducey has formally met with Governor-elect Katie Hobbs who currently serves as the state’s Secretary of State. The AP reports that Ducey’s office is prepared for a full formal and orderly transition of power despite GOP efforts to overturn the election.
“All of us have waited patiently for the democratic process to play out,” Ducey said in a statement. “The people of Arizona have spoken, their votes have been counted and we respect their decision.”
