Shanghai is set to lockdown millions as government officials race to test population

Amid a spiraling outbreak of COVID cases in the area, Shanghai is reportedly set to lockdown millions of people amid efforts to perform mass Coronavirus testing. This comes amid reports of a growing outbreak of the virus again in a city that promised a “zero covid” policy. China ‘s zero COVID policy has largely failed.

Lockdowns will begin in the eastern half from Monday until Friday, officials said, followed by a similar lockdown of its western side beginning on 1 April.
