Though despite the lift it might still be a good idea to sanitize your hands among other basic things you were doing during the initial phase of the pandemic. According to NY Governor Kathy Hochul, businesses no longer have to enforce the indoor mask mandate but the mandate for schools will remain.
It is unclear if Hochul will remove the school mandate which is set to expire in two weeks. The ending of the business mandate is understood to take effect later today following Hochul ‘s formal announcement according to reports.
