Known as donovanosis this STD is understood to cause flesh-eating symptoms that often result in odd looking red beefy like ulcers. Initially the STD was first reported in the UK way back in 2016 but has since resurfaced again this year with cases steadily rising.
Birmingham Live has more information about its spread and the STD as a whole.
“Figures suggest that donovanosis — which was previously thought to be restricted to places including India, Brazil and New Guinea — is becoming more common on these shores,” Dr. Datta, of MyHealthCare Clinic in London, told the outlet.
