The world’s richest couple Bill and Melinda Gates have broken up to the shock of many. But if reports are to widely be believed the couple may have split long ago, but like most, stayed together as long as they could for the sake of their children. At least one of their children, Jennifer, recently graduated high school opening the door for their separation to become official.
Though it appears the Gates family may have privately decided it was time to call it quits months ago.
Jennifer Gates, 18, wrote on Instagram recently indicating that the family may have known long before the announcement that divorce was imminent.
“I’m still learning how to best support my own process and emotions as well as family members at this time, and am grateful for the space to do so. I won’t personally comment further on anything around the separation, but please know that your kind words and support mean the world to me,” she wrote.
Though multiple US reports indicate that much of the desire to play nice is actually because the former couple wants to win a reported Nobel Peace Prize for their philanthropic work. Their aspirations to do such have long been present but only recently became obvious.
