Gun violence in New York City right now is so high you’d think we’re in a live version of Grand Theft Auto. From The Bronx to Brooklyn there have been a total of 11 victims from 15 shootings merely from Thursday night to Friday.
Police say at least three of those shootings were fatal.
Here’s what we know.
- The first shooting occurred at Fulton and Flatbush outside of a McDonald ‘s. The man, unidentified, died at the scene in one of the first murders of the night. The victim reportedly got into a fight with the shooter just after 10pm before the shooter opened fire. Vic was shot in the head before the driver fled.
- In The Bronx, hours later, 3 people were shot at least one fatally at E 179th and Tremont. The shootings were apparently part of a calculated drive-by.
- A 60-year-old man was shot in the torso and pronounced dead at St. Barnabas Hospital, while two others, ages 36 and 54, were taken to the hospital in stable condition .
- Hours after that, a 40-year-old man was fatally shot in the back of the head on Park Avenue.
- And then around noon on Friday, another man was violently shot in the leg at a nail salon on Pitkin Avenue.
Other shootings:
1:15am: 52-year-old man and 23-year-old woman both shot near E 49th in East Flatbush. Both survived and are expected to recover.
1:55 am: A man and a woman roughly believed to be in their late 20 ‘s are described as fully uncooperative and were both shot in The Bronx off Gilbert. It is unclear why they’re uncooperative.
3:15 am: Man shot off Sands Street and remains in critical condition.
3:30 am: Man shot near Nostrand Avenue in Bed Stuy, expected to survive but is fully uncooperative.
