UPenn’s Pres has resigned amid backlash over testimony in Washington on campus anti-Semitism

UPenn’s President is out this week following backlash from alumni and wealthy donors. Elizabeth Magill who sparked widespread criticism with her answers on the matter is set to remain part of the faculty.

“I write to share that President Liz Magill has voluntarily tendered her resignation as President of the University of Pennsylvania,” Scott L. Bok, chairman of the Ivy League school’s board of trustees, wrote in a surprise “University Notification” sent to staffers Saturday.

“She will remain a tenured faculty member at Penn Carey Law,” Bok continued. “On behalf of the entire Penn community, I want to thank President Magill for her service to the University as President and wish her well.

The announcement was made in a notice sent to the UPenn community.
