No sooner than Georgia lifted its restrictions, COVID-19 cases soared within the first 24 hours

Not even a whole 24 hours after Kemp re-opened Georgia despite criticism — the state has seen an alarming jump by almost 1000 cases. According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Kemp ‘s plan might’ve backfired as cases are already soaring in parts of Georgia as people aren’t actually social distancing.

The Department of Health has confirmed that roughly 40 new deaths have occurred since late Thursday night and into Friday as lockdown was lifted.
