Florida has signed a bill revoking Disney’s special status in the state

Florida’s right-wing Governor has once again expanded his attacks on Disney. On Friday, reports confirmed that state officials signed a bill removing Disney’s 1962 special status that allowed it to operate in a self-governing style since that time. The special status has allowed Disney to exist under the Reedy Creek government since around that time officially.

The bill comes as retaliation for Disney publicly coming out against Florida’s reported Don’t Say Gay Bill. As a whole the bill has drawn widespread criticism because nothing with Republicans is as clear cut and obvious as it may seem. Critics have long called foul with the general consensus being that there were ulterior motives present during the bill’s creation.
