Medical debt is often considered to be one of the biggest burdens many Americans face in maintaining their credit scores. According to reports, a new move by the WH will now eliminate medical debt from reports all together with a new proposed rule change.
The Lowdown
The White House has announced a new move set to affect the credit reports of nearly 46m Americans. NBC reports that the announcement outright bans medical debt from appearing on credit reports, which is expected to raise the average consumer credit score at least twenty points. A public comment period will take place through early August though the rule would not take flight until next year if it were to become on the books.
