  1. Argentina ‘s new leader says ‘there is no money’

Argentina ‘s financial woes are making headlines. In an address Sunday, the country’s new leader Javier Milei told supporters that there ‘was no money’ and that the political class had left the country flat broke and in enormous debt. The country for example owes billions (and this is just one of many of its bills) to the International Monetary Fund.

The AP reports. “We don’t have alternatives, and we don’t have time. We don’t have margin for sterile discussions. Our country demands action, and immediate action. The political class left the country at the brink of its biggest crisis in history,” he said in his address Sunday,

Argentina is currently facing inflation of about 143%.

4. New York is tackling antisemitism on college campuses

Following the controversy over campus antisemitism, New York’s Kathy Hochul in a press conference over the weekend reiterated that such will not be allowed at schools within New York. In a letter addressed to presidents of colleges across the state,

“The moral lapses that were evidenced by the disgraceful answers to questions posed during this week’s congressional hearing cannot and will not be tolerated here in the state of New York,” she wrote in the Saturday letter.
