Infamous IG influencer sentenced to 11 years for money laundering

Ramon Abbas infamously known instead by his social media handle Ray Hushpuppi is going to federal prison for 11 years for money laundering. According to a release from the DOJ, Hushpuppi has been hit with 11 years for his role in a massive money laundering scheme that notoriously targeted US companies and several companies overseas.

As a result of his long running scam, he was able to live a lavish and infamous life that he documented online only for the scam to catch up to him.

For those that may not remember, a few years ago Hushpuppi found himself under investigation after authorities in Dubai raided his Palazzo apartment. At the time, they seized more than $41m; 13 luxury cars, troves of luxury items and clothes, a phone and a computer system they believed he used in the scams at the time.
