On Tuesday, the US based company announced that it was laying off roughly 2,800 people amid a corporate shakeup in an effort to boost its share prices. Amusingly, the company surprised its staff with the mass firing and then offered them a year of its exercise membership as it kicked them to the curb without much of a notice.
“This restructuring program is the result of diligent planning to address key areas of the business and realign our operations so that we can execute against our growth opportunity with efficiency and discipline,” the company said in a press release.
