Chicago has elected its first black woman Mayor (LGBTQ News)

BIG NEWS in Chicago, a city often gripped by violence and marred by unprecedented differences. According to reports, voters have announced with their votes that it was by time for a new Mayor. It was confirmed Tuesday night that Lori Lightfoot will succeed the likes of Rahm Emanuel (who has been the subject of hundreds of protests over the years).

Lightfoot dominated both the polls and financial fundraising reports initially causing much of a stir in the city. Meanwhile, another woman has won big in Pennsylvania. Voters also sent out their demands for new representation by electing Senator Pam who managed to unseat a Republican seat.
