New developments in the case of a Colorado funeral director terrifyingly accused of abusing some 191 corpses. According to reports, a judge in a rare move has rejected the plea deal that would have seen the perp only serve 20 years in prison for one of the most terrifying crimes Colorado has seen in years.
The Lowdown
Back in 2023, a Colorado funeral director first made headlines after a grisly discovery in a building in Penrose was made. At the time, investigators reportedly found some 191 bodies all of which came from the Return to Natural Funeral Home essentially rotting away. As it stands, the funeral home allegedly at the time gave people concrete disguised as ashes even though people had rightfully paid for cremation services. The director Jon Hallford is expected to return to court on 12 September.
Due to the plea deal being thrown out the state criminal case against him has effectively been reset.
