The Lowdown

According to Space.com, astronomers and scientists have discovered a new exoplanet that has supersonic winds so fast it is the fastest of such kind in the Universe. The planet appears to have winds with speeds up to 20,500 mph.

Scientists have named the planet WASP-127b and it is understood to sit about 526 light-years from us here on planet earth. The fascinating exoplanet is believed to be tidally locked the same way the moon is to Earth.
