2. U.S journalist Evan Gershkovich has been jailed for 16 years in Russia on trumped up espionage charges.

Unfortunate news for Gershkovich. According to reports, the Wall Street Journal reporter has been sentenced to sixteen years in a Russian penal colony for alleged espionage. Numerous countries including the United States have all claimed that the charges are trumped up.

4. Harvey Weinstein ‘s retrial is set for November in New York City

Disgraced Harvey Weinstein is headed back to court for a retrial on rape and sex crime charges. According to reports, the judge overseeing his case has set the retrial date to begin on 12 November. Al Jazeera reports that the date could be moved up even further depending on how pretrial stuff goes.
