University of Southern California officials have found themselves at the heart of a PR disaster. According to reports, the problems started a while back but boiled over when a commencement speech by popular valedictorian Asna Tabassum who is Muslim was abruptly canceled.
The Lowdown
According to Huff Post, Tabassum’s speech triggered ‘serious safety concerns’ among University staff who have since claimed another speech that was set to go down at the school. Filmmaker Jon M. Chu was scheduled to speak at the school on the tenth of May. USC has since announced that it is redesigning its commencement program altogether.
