America’s notoriously evil Sackler Family is back in the headlines. According to reports, the Sackler’s are going before the court today in an effort to ensure they can stop civil lawsuits from ever proceeding against them for their role as the Kingpin of America’s drug crisis.
A Supreme Court hearing is set to happen today but it largely zones in on a small part of the bankruptcy law. Last year, a settlement was approved in the whole situation for victims and their families — but that settlement came wirhba a condition. At the time, the Sackler’s fought to bar future civil lawsuits all together.
Their deal may now be in jeopardy according to the New York Times.
