A super old bottle of whiskey is making headlines this week after capturing a huge sum at an auction. The Macallan Adami whisky was first bottled in 1986 60 years after originally being brought to life.

The historic bidding took place Saturday at Sotheby ‘s and actually fetched the largest ever haul for a spirit at an auction house. According to the history books, only about 40 of these were ever made. Notably the whiskey was aged in sherry casks for nearly 60 years.

For those wondering, more than £2,187,500 was paid for the whiskey.
