The decades-old cold case of a woman named Laura Kempton has now been solved in New Hampshire. Thanks to modern DNA advancements cops confirmed this week that a suspect has been identified though he has already long passed away.

Laura Kempton, 23, was violently sexually assaulted, tied up, and beaten to death in September 1981 inside her Portsmouth apartment by former inmate Ronney James Lee, New Hampshire officials said. According to records, Ronney James Lee passed away in 2005 from a suspected overdose.
