LOS ANGELES — Troubling news in the world of music today, and, it is with our deepest sadness to bring the news that jazz singer Natalie Cole (think Nat King Cole) has died at the age of 65. Cole, reportedly died at Cedar Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles just before the New Year due to complications from previous health issues.
A statement from her family confirmed the news.
“Natalie fought a fierce, courageous battle, dying how she lived … with dignity, strength and honor. Our beloved Mother and sister will be greatly missed and remain UNFORGETTABLE in our hearts forever,” read the statement from her son Robert Yancy and sisters Timolin and Casey Cole.
