A new Zika scare is hitting Texas, and we’ve got the details. State health authorities confirmed to The Daily News that over the week, uh, a “mosquito transplanted version of the virus” made its way into the U.S from a person who may have contracted it from inside the United States. Officials say the unidentified individual isn’t at risk for transmission to another anymore.
So how’d it happen? State health authorities say that the virus apparently was found in Texas first, specifically Hidalgo County, where it was originally contracted. They wouldn’t say much more as to who; where, or even possibly how — beyond a mosquito transmission.
