Sadiq Khan elected as the first Muslim mayor of London

LONDON — In a first for any developed country, Sadiq Khan, is now the mayor of London.  Over the weekend, Khan, who was up against Zac Goldsmith won the general elections for mayor with more than 57% of the vote.  Goldsmith, a wealthy environmentalist led his campaign using fear-mongering tactics and allegations of “extremism” a charge also led by David Cameron.

Khan, won with more than 1.3m of the votes.
