MANHATTAN —  Troubling news out of Manhattan today, after it was confirmed that Thomas Gilbert Jr, 30, was arrested and remains in police custody in connection to the shooting death of his multi-millionaire hedge fund manager father.

It was a grim scene outside of Gilbert’s Chelsea apartment this week,  after several reports noted that he had barricaded himself inside of the building after having fled the scene where Thomas Gilbert Sr, 70, died.  Police sources noted that Gilbert, 70, died of a single gunshot wound to the head.

Gilbert Sr, 70, was the founder of massive hedge fund Wainscott Capital, worth an estimated $200m.
