Among Shanghai Stampede victims: Young Women

SHANGHAI — Tragedy struck Shanghai over the New Year holiday, so much so, that 36 people are dead.  According to Chinese officials,  a ‘Stampede’ occurred in Shanghai that killed 36 during a ‘time when thousands gathered for the New Year Holiday’.

Unfortunately for most, all but four of the victims were under 25, and 21 of the victims were women. Among those killed includes: a 17-year-old migrant worker. Observers note that among those killed, and most of them young, were likely the only child of their families — due to China’s restrictive birth policies.
