Gray11And it has people talking. During Wednesday’s trial in the death of Freddie Gray, Porter, one of six officers to stand trial in Gray ‘s death — openly testified that the reason he didn’t call medical support into that van the day Gray died was because “Gray gave no proper or valid explanation as to why or how there was a medical emergency”.

Porter’s defense team is on the offense this week following the testimony, after, it had surfaced in Porter’s own testimony that he had heard “Gray ask for medical help” but claims it wasn’t inside of the van.

Furthermore, Porter claims that he had actually tried to get Gray taken to the hospital during the “routine stop” following Gray’s arrest — but couldn’t order the driver to do so because “no emergency was present”.
