Originally recalled back in May, White Coated Confectionary Items by Palmer Candy Company are being taken off shelves amid concerns that the candy contains deadly bacteria. The recall has since been upgraded.

According to reports, The Palmer Company ‘s White Coated Confetionary Items amid further renewed concerns that the candy contains traces of deadly bacteria. Officials are concerned that the candy contains traces of salmonella per the recall. Salmonella is a food borne illness.
Officials have upgraded the recall to ‘Class I’ designation on August 6 the highest of all ratings.
