GOPers far and wide are coming out against Kevin McCarthy in his bid for power as House speaker. According to reports published Thursday, the would-be House Speaker is running into a wide number of issues as at least 4 major GOPers have come out against his bid. It’s worth noting that largely since the GOP won the midterm election (and took control of the House) McCarthy and the company have not focused on the economy but rather on personal political vendettas.
At the rate McCarthy is going, he likely will not be House speaker after all.
One prime example is that of GOP Gov Ralph Norman over in South Carolina who has expressed near-universal doubt about McCarthy. In an interview published Thursday, Norman revealed that he is a hard no for McCarthy’s efforts to become speaker.
“Economic security is national security. I was not happy with the answer Kevin gave me about balancing the budget,” said Norman. “If we have our way, we’re gonna have some firm economic mandates.”
