It seems like only yesterday Twitter was functioning fairly fine or so it seemed. According to reports out Thursday, the mass staff exodus at Twitter continued this week with the abrupt exit of a series of executives across multiple departments. Those departures included the head of privacy; information, and security which has triggered a warning from the FTC to Elon Musk over being non-compliant as a company.
Non-compliant means not in accordance with the FTC ‘s guidelines on information and data privacy security.
The Washington Post reports that the warning came from the FTC because Twitter has been accused of data mismanagement in the past.
“No CEO or company is above the law, and companies must follow our consent decrees,” said Douglas Farrar of the FTC. “Our revised consent order gives us new tools to ensure compliance, and we are prepared to use them.”
