Ukraine ‘s ongoing war because of the Russian invasion continues to produce troubling headlines. According to CNN, Ukrainian officials have been working alongside with the Americans to determine whether or not alternative security measures can be brought forth for Ukraine if it totally ditches the idea of NATO.
However Ukrainian officials are running into some roadblocks because they’re demanding binding treaties that would ensure America and its allies would protect it in the future should Russia actually invade again. Ukraine has made it clear that any such security guarantees would only apply to mainland Ukraine rather than Russian occupied areas of Ukraine (including Donbas and Eastern Ukraine.)
