In almost the same manner in which federal authorities invaded Portland, federal authorities are now doing the same in Chicago. According to the Chicago Tribune, roughly 150 federal agents (hopefully marked this time) are being sent to Chicago to assist in what the DHS calls “unallowable violence” in the city.

Chicago ‘s Mayor Lori Lightfoot reportedly told the outlet that she was not looking for any kind of help and wasn’t interested in federal assistance. She, however, would like the federal government to help with fully funded prosecutors and the like.

The following statement was released by the ACLU:

“Trump’s federal troops will not be a constructive force in Chicago,” the organization said. “As our colleagues have seen in Portland, Trump’s secret forces will terrorize communities, and create chaos. This is not law and order. This is an assault on the people of this country.”
