In a sudden shock to pet owners, officials have now confirmed that you CAN actually have a cat that contract the COVID-19 virus. According to Buzzfeed News, both cats are expected to make a full recovery and at least one of the families had a member who was positive with the virus.
According to the government, both cats appear to have hd a mild respiratory illness that also may have been egged on by at least one of their asymptomatic household members who care after them.
This study (see here) appears to confirm that cats are prone to the disease due to their own immune systems.
