In what may be the latest case to make some rethink ordering food, DoorDash has once again entered the chat. According to reports, Kourtney Stevenson was arrested this week after doorcam footage discovered by police caught her in the alleged act.

The Lowdown

Authorities in Indiana are piecing a wild story together this weekend. According to police, a woman identified as Kourtney Stevenson has been named in a criminal case over video footage that showed her allegedly pepper-spraying a customer’s food.

But it gets stranger from there. Police in Indiana say that on 7 December a couple in the Vanderburgh area reportedly ordered food thinking nothing of it that evening. Hours after ordering, however, both individuals suffered burning sensations in their, noses, mouths, throats, and stomachs, and frequent vomiting. At first, police say the couple didn’t think anything of it until they actually viewed their Ring doorbell footage. The footage showed Stevenson on that evening on their porch, spraying an aerosol can (later ID’ed as pepper spray) in plain view of the camera, towards the food.

Investigators moved quickly after receiving a report of the situation following their illnesses. Through records subpoenaed from DoorDash, police were able to identify Stevenson ahead of her rather quick arrest. Initially, upon contact, she admitted to using the pepper spray as seen in the now infamous video but claimed that she was trying to kill a spider but cops aren’t believing that because it was so cold that night.
