Britain’s former Prince Andrew is now by technicality a commoner. According to reports, the disgraced member of the British Royal Family lost all of his titles and his massive Royal Lodge residence this week after King Charles took it all away following the latest revelations about Andrew ‘s dealings with the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

The Lowdown

In a move completing the stunning downfall of the man formerly known as Prince Andrew, King Charles announced this week that his disgraced brother would no longer be a member of the fold at all including all titles and his formal residence. According to the palace, Buckingham has made it clear that the King’s sympathies sit with all of the victims involved.

The renewed attention and scrutiny on Andrew intensified after the publication of the memoir by the late Virginia Giuffre. In it, she detailed three instances in which she said she was forced to have sex with Andrew who ‘felt’ it was his birth-right to have done so. It was one of many incredibly disturbing allegations in the book that appear to have moved the King to act amid growing public pressure to kick his brother out.

“These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him,” the palace’s statement said, per the Telegraph. “Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse.”

This means that Andrew has now lost all of his titles and will simply be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.
