In the case against Diddy, his infamous freak-off parties, which many were captured on video, have now had their day in court. The videos, which were shown as short clips, are the first time the jury has been introduced to the shocking content.
The Lowdown
This week in the case against Diddy, jurors got their first glimpse of perhaps the most central part of the prosecution’s case against the disgraced hip-hop mogul. Prosecutors yesterday showed a series of 3 short videos that depicted the much-talked-about freak-off parties between Diddy, Cassie, who he is accused of beating during this time, and a sex worker, Sharay Hayes, known as ‘The Punisher’, dated 14 October 2012. In that instance, prosecutors also showed an invoice dated for the same day for a Trump Hotel & Tower (that’s in Manhattan) reservation for the same night, which was allegedly booked at 3am per a note left on the actual reservation.
The shocking videos were recovered from a Diddy-linked account on a device that Cassie provided to authorities. Because of the sensitive nature of the videos, they were only available to the jury at hand and the prosecution and defense, all of whom were given headphones before the day’s hearing. Prosecutors did announce that they plan to rest their case on Wednesday, which means the defense will be calling their witnesses in the ongoing trial next.
