Liv Schmidt the now notorious influencer behind ‘Skinni Societe’ has found herself on the cusp of career cancellation. According to a damning expose in New York Magazine, Schmidt, 23, has been outed as using her platform allegedly  for all the wrong reasons.

The Lowdown

It all began after a damning New York Magazine revealed Skinni Societe to be nothing  online operation apparently targeting underage girls.    Schmidt, who charges upwards of $20 a month for access to her private content and group chats immediately came under fire following the shocking article by The Cut.

n the article,  reporter EJ Dickson found that many of the supposed members   appeared to allegedly be underage and exchanging dangerous diet plans and eating habits. In some instances, Dickson reportedly discovered that  young girls were posting symptoms (after eating next to no food)  with no recourse  to stop the flow of the information being provided. To make it worse,   in some instances,  young girls in the group chat were ‘competing to see who could eat less.’

Following the publication of the article, Schmidt reportedly lost monetization abilities on Instagram and her accounts have been restricted to 18+ users only.

In response to the article, Schmidt wrote the following statement on Instagram.

‘The most disturbing part? Meta didn’t even come to me. Despite countless support tickets, messages, and outreach attempts, no one was willing to speak with me directly. I was met with silence.

‘And meanwhile, one person with a vendetta was able to spin a false narrative that cost me my business.

‘Anyone at Meta can look at my page and see the truth. There are thousands of testimonials. It’s an adult women’s community—I even have it written in the rules: no one under 18. This person spreading lies didn’t just try to hurt me—they successfully manipulated your system. And no one stepped in to ask a single question.

‘I’m not going to beg to defend myself to a company that never once asked for my side of the story.’
