Jay-Z is no longer the subject of rape claims following a case dismissal request by the woman involved. As reported by Bazaar Daily, Jay-Z and Diddy were accused of sexually assaulting a then thirteen-year-old girl in 2000 following the MTV Video Music Awards. The woman voluntarily withdrew her case with prejudice according to the case.
The woman’s story fell under intense scrutiny after it first came to light again in December. NBC News was first to question the woman over many inconsistencies that appeared in her story to no avail. Following the announcement on Friday, Jay-Z released the following statement on social media regarding the matter.
“Today is a victory. The frivolous, fictitious and appalling allegations have been dismissed. This civil suit was without merit and never going anywhere,” Carter said in a statement. “The fictional tale they created was laughable, if not for the seriousness of the claims.”
