According to reports, Donald Trump is now floating ‘penal-like’ colonies whereas American convicts get sent to overseas territories (similar to how Russia sends people into Siberia and other places for example.) The proposal according to NBC News is being billed as a ‘cost-saving measure’ although the consequences of such let alone the legality remain unclear.
It’s no secret that prisons and such in America are meant solely for profit but it isn’t clear how much money (apart from the other concerns about the proposal) would actually be saved.
The comments from Trump came during an appearance at a Republican retreat in Miami where Trump huddled with Republican House members seeking to further push Trump ‘s agenda.
