In latest act of subway violence, a man was violently slashed underground as cops struggle to stop train violence

Another day another episode of train violence. According to authorities, a 46-year-old man was violently and repeatedly slashed while riding an uptown 2 train.

The Lowdown

NYPD cops are investigating this afternoon following yet another episode of unprovoked train violence underground.  According to police, a 46-year-old man was repeatedly stabbed while riding an uptown 2 train near 96th st this morning. The incident reportedly occurred shortly after 4:30 am.

The suspct a 56-year-old disturbed man attacked the man inside the 2 train near 96th and Broadway.    He was later taken to Mount Sinai where he is recovering from numerous slash wounds including to the head.

Police managed to collar the attacker on the scene and a knife was recovered by authorities. This attack comes after at least 7 other New Yorkers were either slashed or attacked in some form in the last week underground alone.
