Venezuelan dictator Nicolàs Maduro’s terrifying crackdown against his political opponents continues. According to reports, more people have had their passports canceled.

The Lowdown

According to The Guardian, dozens of human rights activists and journalists are among the new round of people to see their passports canceled by the Maduro regime. The move is the latest in a disturbing series of moves by Maduro to cling to power following an election that is widely he lost.

Cancelling passports is a common tactic used by dictators to stifle opposition. The Venezuelan government is understood to target individuals specifically often in places like the main regional airport.
