Across hundreds of unionized stores, Starbucks is accused of some pretty shady stuff. According to reports, the chain has been accused of unlawfully cutting hours without actually bargaining for such changes.
The Lowdown
According to the federal complaint, beginning in the middle of 2022 and into parts of 2023 Starbucks allegedly began engaging in the behavior accused. It’s estimated that workers across 290 stores.
Huff Post reports that Starbucks has denied the accusation and an investigation remains ongoing. It’s estimated that the wages and related owed likely tops $30m.
