Following the Epic Games ruling last year, a new ruling against Google has ordered its parent company Alphabet to make a host of changes.
The Lowdown
According to The Guardian, Alphabet (aka Google) has been ordered to make a series of changes to its mobile app business. The goal of the order is to ‘give Android users’ more power over apps they can download and the ability to pay for things within them. US district judge James Donato’s ruling comes after a similar case last year involving Epic Games and Apple ‘s App store.
Per the ruling, Alphabet is banned from reversing the court ordered changes for three years.
