Russian born Telegram founder Pavel Durov is in French custody following a surprise arrest after he landed in the area. According to reports, Durov is under investigation for content moderation policies on the app. Telegram is home to more than nine-hundred million people worldwide.

Pavel Durov is facing some legal troubles in France after French authorities surprised him with an arrest and a search warrant after he landed in Paris. According to what is known, French authorities launched a search warrant after they reportedly determined the tools Durov offers ‘cryptocurrency and other’ on the app allow criminals and the like to run amuck.

The charges and allegations include: terrorism, narcotic supply, fraud, money laundering and receiving stolen goods.

According to Forbes, Durov is worth about $15.5B.
