According to the New York Post, a Queens Dem is pushing a novel new bill that would require police to otherwise have personal liability insurance. The push comes amid ongoing attempts for police and law enforcement reform. The bill is being pushed by Queens Councilwoman Nantasha Williams.
William’s claims it would save the city a fortune worth of money at a time when New York City ‘s spending has some concerned. Police groups have denounced the attempted bill claiming that if politicians wanted to help police departments they’d instead fight suits against cops.
