With the Supreme Court ‘s ruling that former President’s do enjoy some form of immunity, the court as it goes has punted the case back to DC judge Tanya Chutkan for the real test.
The Lowdown
On Monday, the Supreme Court issued its formal ruling that many expected that former Presidents do enjoy some form of immunity from prosecution but only within their official acts. The ruling leaves DC judge Tanya Chutkan with the bulk of the work — deciding how to apply that immunity ruling to the four-count-indictment federally against Trump. Those acts in which are deemed ‘official’ have to be removed from the record and Trump will never be held to account for them.
In its whole, the ruling means that it is almost inevitable that Trump will not go to trial before the November election. This means that your vote matters more than ever before.
Bazaar Daily will continue following new developments on the matter where it is expected to play out in the coming weeks.
