UN officials are out today with a dire warning inside Gaza following increased attacks that have left many injured or dead. According to the AP, UN officials are planning to halt aid deliveries in the besieged strip unless Israel can guarantee safety.

The Lowdown

The AP reports that earlier this month a letter circulated to Israeli forces that aid workers on the ground must be able to communicate with IDF soldiers to help prevent further casualties and the like. UN workers have faced a growing number of issues; security fears, and often are near or centre-stage during Israeli strikes on the besieged strip.

A separate UN report found that without increased and continued aid increased famine is almost certain in Palestine.
