Donald Trump’s hush money trial has officially concluded and the jury is doing what a jury does. According to reports, the verdict is expected sometime late this week but more than likely next.

The Lowdown

Trump the first former President to ever stand for a criminal trial faced 34 counts in the headline-grabbing trial. Trump on his part maintained his innocence throughout, however, he does face several potential outcomes.

According to the case, the charges of which there are 34, carry a maximum of four years in prison and piece. In the instance he is found guilty on all charges, he would face more than 136 years in prison and would effectively die behind bars.

In another scenario, Trump who has not been charged with a violent crime therefore in New York City it remains unclear if DA Alvin Bragg would seek time behind bars. In New York State due to previous bail reform laws, defendants are often not jailed if their crimes aren’t violent ones — though the case is not clear with Trump at this time.

Another possible scenario according to what we’ve gleaned from the case is that Judge Merchan may give Trump concurrent sentences. For example, this means if he were found guilty on all charges he would effectively only serve about a four year prison sentence.

We will be following the latest developments as the New York City jury determines whether or not to find him guilty or not guilty.
