Chinese women once again bucked Xi Jinping ‘s calls for more children in yet another sign country’s population will nosedive

In China the country has more older people than any other country on Earth in part because it did not account for changing reproduction habits among future generations.

According to a new report, China ‘s population once again declined over the past year as more people get older and far less people are having children and starting families.

The New York Times points out that despite ‘freebies’ from the government women just aren’t having it and that is their right to do so. It comes as Xi Jinping is attempting to goad Chinese society into a further totalitarian nationalist state.

In a fascinating tidbit, The Times found that at least 20% of the country’s population is at least 60 years or older.
