X has announced that perhaps one of its last truly functioning features is going away. According to the company, circles will cease to exist come the end of October. The reason behind the feature being removed is not known at this time.
Instead X appears to be heavily promoting its communities. Circles are expected to stop working next month so users are advised to delete any content; remove any posts you may not want the public to see, and so on.
